Editorial

The SCAR Journal was created as a forum for healthcare professionals to publish high quality clinical, scientific and educational information on all aspects of scars and their management. Launched in 2008, the SCAR Journal is the official journal of the SCAR Club, offering the unique opportunity of a common platform for a multidisciplinary audience.
Published on-line, the SCAR Journal has four issues per year and each issue includes four articles. The types of articles published have a varying degree of depth and complexity, reflecting the range of the Journal’s readership; from inexperienced or training healthcare professionals to key opinion leaders. Articles are welcome from both acadaemia and industry – please refer to the section for authors. In addition, the SCAR Journal includes abstracts presented at SCAR meetings.

Objectives
The SCAR Journal is dedicated to promoting excellence in healthcare practice and to improving communication among healthcare professionals who are involved in the management of scars. Concentrating on issues directly relevant to scar management, the SCAR Journal enables its readers to keep abreast of the latest advances in the field, assisting them to expand their knowledge and skills in order to provide the very best care for their patients.
